Adwitiya (1968)

This evocative family drama traces the trials and triumphs in the life of Rajib, a cultured young man from an upper-middle-class family, who is passionate about music and singing. Although he is deeply connected with his mother, he is an introvert and worried about his future, his mother chooses a beautiful young woman to be his bride, without his knowledge.

While travelling to a hill station for a concert, Rajib meets and becomes deeply attached to Lakshmi. Just as their friendship blossoms into a deep understanding, Lakshmi suddenly cuts off ties with him. Heartbroken, Rajib comes back home and agrees to marry the woman of his mother's choice, but continues to make attempts to meet Lakshmi. Will he have the opportunity to meet Lakshmi and find out her reasons for leaving his life so abruptly? Will their relationship resume? How will the future unfold for the both of them?
