Akalangalil (1986)

This family-oriented romantic drama depicts the trials and triumphs in the life of Sethu, a sincere young man. He is extremely happy as his mother has just given him permission to marry his lover, Vasanthi, a beautiful young woman who works as a receptionist at a hotel. Vasanthi's father lays conditions that she should not have to quit her job after the wedding, and that Sethu would be responsible for her younger brother, Rajesh's education. Having agreed to the terms, Sethu takes responsibility for his own family and Rajesh as well. However, as Vasanthi continues working, Sethu's mother is burdened with taking care of their children as well as doing all the household chores. When his mother expresses the wish to travel on pilgrimage, problems arise as there is no one to take care of the children. Further, Vasanthi has neither interest nor experience in running a household. This causes many complications and misunderstandings within the family. Can Sethu and Vasanthi resolve their issues and restore harmony and happiness in their marriage?
