If you are looking for gory spooks then Annabelle could end up disappointing you but the built up is quite there. At least it’s a well rounded believable story without any OTT VFX or ugly ghost faces.
In that sense, Anabelle is more relatable and the God is in the detail. The doll never bats an eyelid, the setup is purely 70s or 80s and nothing in the film is left unexplained or in suspended imagination. It’s a story that could be tragically scripted in anyone’s life with a definite start and closure.
So for once, let the spooks take a back seat and go watch this highly elitist videshi version of paapi gudiya :) no baby doll this. He he hahahaha!
I give it 3 stars. ***
The Film(OUIJA (2014)) has not been scheduled to release in coimbatore. If some higher authority is reading this please help us in a way that releasing the movies in coimbatore. As a fan of supernatural movies and some people i know who live around the city are getting very disappointed that most of the movies are not releasing in coimbatore city. As the second largest city in tamilnadu after chennai. People should consider relasing some of the horror movies in coimbatore. I thank MOVIEBUFF crew for giving this opportunity to give out this message to concerned people. If this action been taken we will be very happy.
we mostly get in Annabelle is what we've gotten from so many other horror films: creaking floors, funky white-robed figures, home appliances that go off on their own, mysterious writing that shows up in mysterious places
ANNABELLE has failed to give the nightmare like THE CONJURING but delivered the thrill like DEAD SILENCE....worth watchable for one time...
