Ayanam (1985)

This poignant family-oriented drama centres around Johnny, a wealthy, spoilt man who spends most of his life is drowning in alcohol. His parents and wife, Alice are deeply troubled by his behaviour, but he's uncouth and uncaring. While Johnny's younger brother Illikkal Varkey, tries his best to expand their business and bring prosperity into the family, Johnny continues to drown the family's wealth in immoral practices. Then, Illikkal Varkey falls in love with Lizzie, a woman from a low economic background, much to his father's unhappiness. Can Alice convince Johnny to take responsibility for the family? Will he be able to transform into a caring man and ensure that his brother is able to marry the love of his life? Will Illikkal Varkey remain loving towards his family even after his marriage? Will all the members of the family cooperate and restore harmony, peace and prosperity in the family?
