Balaraju Katha (1970)

Set against the picturesque town of Mahabalipuram, this socially relevant drama traces the twists and turns in the life of Balaraju (Master Prabhakar), a streetwise youngster from an impoverished background. Learning to fend for himself from a young age, he takes advantage of the tourism industry in the town and becomes a tourist guide.

Charming tourists and travellers, he finds a way to financially support his entire family. An elderly couple, who yearn to have a child of their own, fall in love with Balaraju and express the desire to adopt him. Will he accept that proposition and settle into a comfortable life, or will more challenges and ordeals lie in store for him?
