Dai Miyamoto, a middle school basketball player, is profoundly moved when a friend takes him to a live jazz performance. Inspired, he starts practicing the tenor saxophone on his own, despite having no formal training or ability to read sheet music. Determined and passionate, he sets his sights on becoming the world's best saxophone player.
