Trivia:
Shahid Kapoor and D'Souza were closely connected to this movie, as it was mentioned on Tere Mere Beach Mein, a show hosted by Farah Khan, that they were both given a second chance in their lives.

This movie is inspired by the Step Up movie trilogies and School of Rock.

This movie had two other working titles: 'Yahoo', but yahoo.com wouldn't give producers the rights, and 'Star', which was rejected because it was too similar to the title of Superstar (2008), with Kunal Khemu playing the lead role.

Jiah Khan was actually Shahid's original co-star and shot half of the film, but was later replaced by Genelia D'Souza, who had to include scenes in a whirlwind schedule.
