*SPOILER*  A pure entertainer
on

It was a treat of fun and entertainment from the film based on the novel of Shri Narayan Gangopadhyay. Although at the outset it's better to acknowledge the Teni Da character - way it has been portrayed by the author was actually a mismatch with the artist Chinmoy Roy who portrayed the same as in the novel the physique of Teni Da has been always a 6 feet He-man type unlike Chinmoy Roy who is a lean with a small stature. But yet Roy totally eclipsed the discrepancy with his excellent acting and comical exploits. The remaining Krishna Saha Samaresh Banerjee and Nimai Dutta supported well. The initial portrayal of Teni Da in his voracious eating scenes added to the comedy as well as their mischief during the train journey with the rogue sage Swami Ghutghutananda played by veteran actor Satya Banerjee.
A sudden changing the mood of the film from a comedy into a suspense thriller was done efficiently by the director. However like all commercial movie the punishment of the villains Swami Ghutghutananda with Gajeshwar and Seth Dhunduram played by Shambhu Bhattacharya and Rabi Ghosh respectively was rendered in a comical mood rather than usual physical scuffle or gun blazes in other commercial films where Biplab Chatterjee who played the role of police inspector also had to essay a comedian acting while arresting the baddies. In other roles spells of comedy was also cast by Santosh Datta The director may not have rendered perfection in every moment as the film proceeded but overall film was presented as a highly watchable entertainment .The music composed by Ajay Das had it's essence of a comedy although a purely patriotic number sung by the great Manna Dey "Bharot amar Bharotbarsha" was presented on a relatively serious note.In lyrics Shibdas Bandyopadhyay was outstanding.
