Chinna Gounder (Vijaykant), the popular
village headman, marries the poor shepherd
girl Devayani (Sukanya). His evil brother-inlaw
Sakare Gounder (Ghouse) causes a series
of problems that culminate in Devayani being
arrested for murder. Chinna Gounder, in order
to protect Devayani’s pregnant sister Valli,
claims responsibility for the pregnancy. The
mess is eventually resolved and the villagers
drive the villains out.
