Trivia:
In its opening weekend, the film grossed $26 million domestically, marking the highest opening weekend revenue for any A24 film to date. This surpassed the previous record held by "Hereditary" (2018), which earned $14 million. Additionally, it became the first A24 film to debut at the top spot in the box office rankings.

Just days before shooting his scene, Jesse Plemons stepped in to join the cast after the original actor dropped out. Director Alex Garland was recommended Plemons by Kirsten Dunst, Jesse's wife.

Nick Offerman and Jesse Plemons' involvement in the project remained undisclosed until the release of the first trailer in December 2023. Plemons went as far as denying rumors of his participation earlier that year.

The film is scheduled for release in the United States on April 12, 2024, precisely 163 years after the commencement of the American Civil War.

In May 2022, it was announced that Sonoya Mizuno would be joining the cast, having previously appeared in all of Alex Garland's films.
