Oskar, a famous pantomime and clownery performer returns to his native country after 30 years of immigration to France. He is about to have the “derriere” show to end his successful career. This event inspires a young student of comedy to write a thesis about Oskar’s artistic past. This past is inseparably intertwined with two notable artistic personalities: Max and Viktor. Their clowneries used to be the islands of freedom in the midst of resignation within the communist regime. Then something serious happened among the three clowns that was the root of their fatal break-up. Student’s investigation reveals that the political circumstances and creative freedom after all weren't the true causes of Oskar’s immigration and the following political ban of the artistic activity of the remaining two. Oskar, Max and Viktor go though a lot of surprising discoveries about each other’s lives. Their journey is peppered with the wisdom of the certain age when you know that having the last laugh is the next best thing.
