Delving into concepts of friendship, honesty and integrity, this emotionally charged social drama follows the life of Maanav, a well-educated orphan. When, at a crossroads in life, he decides to move to the city of Bombay, on the train journey, he catches hold of a burglar attempting to steal his luggage. The burglar, Gopichand is an alcoholic who has been separated from his wife and son due to his illegal and immoral activities. This unlikely duo become friends, and Maanav inspires Gopichand to mend his ways and reunite with his family. Maanav also gets Gopichand gainful employment with Hercules Milk Foods, so that he may continue his life in an honest and straightforward manner. Then, Maanav is forced to step away from Gopichand's life due to his own personal reasons. However, when he gets the shocking news that Gopichand has been arrested for marketing contaminated milk powder resulting in the deaths of hundreds of children, Maanav is forced to return. Is Gopichand really responsible for this heinous act? Can their unlikely friendship survive against all odds?
