The story of life in a small island in bay of Bengal, in the end of colonial era . It tells us the life of the fishermen and coastal people of a beautiful smell Island. There is so many colourful characters with much intensity. Specially the the heroine charactered by Sandhya Roy was great. I read the novel and saw the movie in my childhood. The novel was written by Ramapada Chowdhury. It is so intense that tears came in my eyes in last part. But we r unfortunately lost the movie.
