Trivia:
First major animated co-production between Mexico and the United States.

Lisa Kudrow, who plays Lucille, was the only all-American cast member in the film.

To help prepare her role, director Ricardo Arnaiz helped Lisa Kudrow with her emphasis in her Spanish.

Also produced by Michael D. Olmos, the son of Edward James Olmos.

Director Ricardo Arnaiz has stated that he originally intended to use traditional 2D animation, but executive producer Edward James Olmos insisted Arnaiz to use CG animation and stereoscopic 3D for better chances of the film's success.

Director Ricardo Arnaiz didn't have any experience with computer animation prior to development.

Edward James Olmos had already seen La leyenda de la Nahuala (2007) prior to casting and development.

After working at Ánima Estudios for 5 years, this is the first time composer Leoncio Lara has worked for Animex Producciones, as well being his first Hollywood film.

First project for animation veteran Phil Roman, since 2005.
