Enga Pattan Sothu (1975)

Embedded with quirky comedy and charged emotion, this dramatic tale delves into the twists and turns in the life of two good friends, Kumar and Saravanan. Kumar is exceedingly religious and conscientious, while Saravanan is more fun-loving and jolly. Kumar is also deeply connected with his elder brother, Shanmugam and his son Murugan. At the end of the college, he travels back to his native village to attend the village's grand religious festival. However, before Kumar is able to reach the temple, Shanmugam is murdered by jealous, powerful enemies. Incensed by his beloved brother's death Kumar also becomes violent and kills one of their enemies. He then surrenders to the police, but with the young Murugan left an orphan, Kumar is forced to become a fugitive to take responsibility for Murugan. Will Kumar succeed in protecting Murugan from their enemies? What will Kumar's friend Saravanan do to help him?
