Ente Sreekittukke (1993)

Embedded with modern cinematic elements, this rustic family drama delves into the life of Balakrishnan Nair, a bus driver, who leads the simple but happy life with his family that comprises of his wife, Saraswati, daughter, Shree Kuti and younger brother. Balakrishnan Nair's entire family and Nandini, his childhood playmate, eagerly await the arrival of Nair's eldest son, Appuettan. Due to their impoverished condition, Appu is desperately in search of employment, but is unable to get suitable work, despite having a bachelors degree in commerce. At this time, he becomes deeply influenced by Master, a charismatic man who evokes Appu's artistic talents and idealistic political notions. Appu becomes involved in political activities that take on a violent turn when a group of political workers end up committing murder, for which Appu is held responsible and sent to prison. The crux of this tale delves into the heart-wrenching circumstances that befall all the members of the family.
