Kalam Mari Katha Mari (1987)

Embedded with charged emotions and deep insights, this offbeat romantic drama depicts the fluctuating fortunes in the life of Ummu Kholzu (Shobhana), a beautiful young woman from an impoverished family. She is in love with Razzak (Lalu Alex), her neighbor, but her father Hameed (Thilakan) objects to their union and consequently forces her to marry Kamarudeen (Mammootty). Kamar is an exceptionally wealthy man from an aristocratic family, but he's also severely disabled, as both his hands are paralysed. He is dependent upon Ummu for many of his day to day activities. Ummu is heartbroken and her woes spiral out of control when she is forced to endure extreme abuse and torture at the hands of her in-laws. Unable to watch Ummu's struggle, Kamar takes the bold move of moving out of his house and moving into hers. It is only then that he slowly becomes suspicious of the past relationship between Ummu and Razzak. How will this complex love triangle unfold? How will the marriage between Ummu and Kamar pan out?
