Newspaper reporter, Jai Singh tries to get a scoop news from a village, buys a woman named Kamla and makes her pose in front of a press conference as a victim and evidence of flesh trade and trafficking in India. Jai's wife Sarita learns about his concept and realizes that she is a slave in her own world and starts to despise her chauvinistic husband who is also an opportunist. Sarita's uncle learns about her situation and tries to understand her position when Sarita gets disrespected by her husband's blinding ego and ambition. Kamla's story becomes a political embarrassment and Jai gets sacked from his job as his whole story is a hoax. He comes to realize that he is now the 'Kamla' in this situation.
