Karthik, the protagonist of the film, is educated and sharp-minded. He harbors deep affection for Tanya, his sweetheart back home. However, a minor altercation escalates, leading Tanya to refer to him as a brother in an attempt to defuse the situation. Hurt by this unexpected declaration, Karthik decides to distance himself from his hometown and friends, opting instead to enroll in a college in Bangalore.
