Trivia:
Robin Williams' Mrs. Doubtfire outfit was so convincing that his own son couldn't recognize him until he started speaking.

While filming Robin Williams' scenes, Director Chris Columbus would use two or three cameras at a time, uncertain of what the famously improvisational actor would come up with.

Though the movie was always intended to be released as PG-13, according to Chris Columbus, Robin Williams improvised so much that there were PG, PG-13, R, and NC-17 edits of the film.

According to a biography, Robin Williams decided to test out his character by going as Mrs. Doubtfire into an adult bookstore and making a purchase. He managed to do so without being recognized.
