'Muavza' is an intelligent satirical comedy which delves into many socially relevant issues as well as personally significant values and beliefs.
As the metropolis of New Delhi expands into the neighboring villages, the seemingly worthless patches of land hold the promise of millions for the penniless landowners. The owners sniff huge monitory compensations.
At the center of the story are three Gujjar families of Bhasoya, Awaana and Bhati from a sleepy village. Then, there is a shrewd character, Bechu Bhai (Annu Kapoor), a streetwise and wily man who becomes a catalyst of events to come when he makes the villagers aware of the government compensation.
Simpletons at heart, the three Gujjar families receive huge amount of monies when suddenly their lands acquire 'priceless' status due to this expansion. Their absolutely hilarious way of spending money gives an insight about their characters.
'Muavza' is a rib tickling, super sarcastic, unique story of razor sharp wit focusing on the lives of the nouveau riche of New Delhi and NCR. Their lifestyles, before and after, their identity crises and their raw approach to everything, their boastful nature and vain one-upmanship... spin a tale which is warm, endearing, exceedingly funny and full of moral lessons.
