This wise and witty comedy is set in the 1980s, and follows the fluctuating fortunes in the life of Gopi (Vishnu), who runs a photo studio called Hollywood Studio in Sathyamangalam along with his assistant photographer Alagumani (Kaali).
While on an assignment, he goes to a remote village called Mundasupatti, and gets into deep trouble. This is because the villagers view him as a villain, as they are afraid of getting photographed. They live under the superstition that being photographed would reduce their life expectancy and lead to imminent death, for what they believe to be logical reasons.
Further complications occur when Gopi falls in love with the village chief's daughter Kalaivani (Nandita), who just happens to be previously engaged to someone else, Adding to his woes is the constant trouble caused by her uncle Muniskanth (Ramdoss), who wants to be the next superstar. Will Gopi succeed in gaining the approval of the villagers, and win over the love of his life?
