Music of the Sidis is a two part documentary film on one of the most intriguing group of people living in India, a community of East African origin known as the Sidis. The Sidis came to India about eight to nine centuries ago and brought with them their rich musical tradition, keeping it alive and flourishing through the generations. They traveled from East Africa to predominantly the western states of India. To this day the Sidis still preserve much of their physical African features, their cultural practices, and music and dance forms. The film documents the music and the related cultural and spiritual practices of Sidi people. Length: Part I - 56 minutes; Part II - 48 minutes.
