A fast-paced crime thriller that traces the twists and turns in the life of an underworld don's insatiable pursuit of power, love and conquest; while desperately resisting the inevitable forces of time and fate.
The sequel takes off from where the previous film ended; with Shoaib Khan (Akshay Kumar) violently crowning himself the reigning don after assassinating his mentor, Sultan Mirza (Ajay Devgn).
By instilling fear, respect and reverence in the Indian underworld, he establishes his supremacy throughout. Not only that, suave and charismatic he expands his underworld empire as far as the Middle East.
Trusting very few, his only companions are Javed, who oversees his illegal and shady deals for him; his long-time lover, Mumtaz (Sonali Bendre); and Aslam (Imran Khan), a youth spotted by Shoaib during one of his visits to the slums, where he spent the early years of his life.
The only thorns on Shoaib's path, two enemies who still dare to question his supremacy in Mumbai are, Vardha and Arun. Sreenu, a police officer, join hands with them fully intending to destroy Shoaib's operation completely.
Although the city still remains his first love, a rising starlet, Jasmine catches Shoaib's fancy. In time, this passion takes the shape of obsession and leads to a rift between Shoaib and Aslam as they both vie for Jasmine's love. Will Shoaib manage defeat his enemies and establish dominion? Who will gain Jasmine's love and loyalty?
Factual Mistake Aslam sensed the presence of a bomb in his car through the electromagnetic interference that that bomb caused on the speedometer and their watches. However, such an interference would also have produced a static noise in the speakers playing the tape inside the car.
Character Error 10 mins: During the cricket match in Sharjah, Shoaib and the pretty lady are talking to each other and betting, all while the ball hit by the batsman is in the air and is yet to be caught by the fielder. Their conversation would have taken much longer than what it takes for the ball to go up and be caught by the fielder.
Character Error 27 mins: While chasing the person in the train who is carrying the diamonds, both Aslam and that person jump out of the moving train, and straight away begin running without even regaining their balance. When a person jumps out of a fast moving vehicle, his inertia drags him forward to some distance before he comes to rest.
This movie is the sequel of to the gangster romance movie Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai (2010).
