Onnanu Nammal (1984)

This family-oriented relationship drama revolves around Seetha, a vivacious young woman, whose sister, Nirmala is married to a handsome bank employee, Sethu. Nandakumar, a sales officer, who is fondly known Nandu, sees Seetha for the first time on a bus journey, and immediately feels deeply attracted to her. He recruits his college mate, Hari to assist him in getting close to Seetha. Soon, Nandu's perseverance pays off, and Seetha falls in love with him. To make things more rosy, Nirmala and Sethu give their wholehearted blessing for their union, and their marriage is fixed. However, in a cruel twist of fate, Nandu passes away in a road accident. Seetha is shattered. Her family makes every attempt to help her get over the trauma, and just as Seetha seems to be improving, tragedy strikes the family once more. In an attempt to save her daughter, Nirmala is fatally injured, and goes into an indefinite coma. With Seetha taking on the responsibility of mothering her niece, what will the future hold for the family?
