Shireen drives a taxi to support her living and Krithika is focussed on her ambition to become a police officer. As Krithika is prevented from attending police selection trials due to rigid official recognised gender binary of male and female while Shireen struggles in achieving her theatrical ambition due to her failure in landing female roles as theatre groups find her physical attributes male. Through judicial intervention, Krithika is allowed to take part in the selections under the female category. Despite being successful in the selections she realises that her recognition as a woman in society is still a distant dream.
