Pratigya (1943)

Jeevan believes to be wealthy persuades his father to let him study further and learns about his family wealth from his father and drops the idea of higher education to work and support his family. When he joins work he meets with the Jyoti, who is the daughter of a rich man, mistakes her for Indira and after some hilarious altercations he ends up falling in love with her and gets married to her. After the marriage he learns about her wealth and problems start when he has problems with highly educated colleagues. Jyoti decides to make her husband study in london for further education and the household responsibilities fall on his sister's head who manages the house. Jeevan pursues higher education and upon return he mistreats his wife, and involves himself with a dancer. Jyoti leaves the household and swears to never return until her husband realizes her worth, respect her so she could forgive him for his mistreatment.
