This patriotic period drama is set against the backdrop of the Indian independence struggle. The Diwan of Travancore, is a ruthless dictator of this independent kingdom. He encourages caste divisions, wishing to trust any voice that speaks against him.
Shiva is a member of the Brahmin community, but fearlessly speaks against the divisive and exploitative practices. He becomes the leader of the local non-violent struggle for creating an independent India, that was pioneered by Mahatma Gandhi. Will Shiva and his comrades be successful in defeating the powerful Diwan? What price will he and his family be forced to pay for having the audacity to defy the Diwan's supreme authority?
