Karam Singh returns back to the village where soldiers are treated with the respect that they deserve and even saying the word soldier is banned. He meets Chann Kaur and falls in love with her so initially, she refuses to take him seriously but over time she accepts his feelings and asks her to send the marriage proposal to her father. Chann's father refuses to marry her off to a soldier and plans to get her committed to someone else.
