Move from 'DISABILITY' & say 'I HAVE THIS ABILITY'
on

The movie 'Shades' shows the remarkable fighting spirit of the girl working at shopping mall counter, when it comes to dealing with her disability. She stands at the billing counter with prosthetic legs, despite excruciating pain, which she tells her concerned father, who constantly stares at her shoes while sweeping the floor in the same shopping mall. The story is definitely a celebration and triumph of human spirit.

The movie definitely has the power to change the mindset of common man and society towards diffabled, which will help them to find their unique talent, overcome their limitations and meet their challenges bravely and scream from top of THE WORLD -I HAVE MOVED FROM 'DISABILITY', "I HAVE THIS ABILITY"

We need to understand, India has one of the largest population of differently-abled people. The census shows that the population of differently-abled people has increased by 22.4% from 2.19 crore in 2001 to 2.68 crore in 2011.

Though a lot has been done by Government & various voluntary organisations for their welfare, there is a long way to go as lot more has to be done.
First and foremost, the society’s perception and mindset about differently-abled people needs to change. People & organisations should realise that they are normal human beings and one among us & not discriminate during employment.

The employment and vocational avenues for them should be widened & they should be given equal opportunity to participate in all activities of life.

Let us welcome them to join mainstream of life with more ramps, wheelchairs & Braille at public places.
