Spectre Review: I guess, this could be the worst bond movie ever. Heard, this is Craig’s last appearance as Bond, but better ask Director Sam Mendes not to direct Bond movies any more. I suppose, he is on mission to kill this Bond brand. In his last “Skyfall” (though it was not Bond formatted), but still movie was captivating. But this Spectre seems neither to be Nostalgia nor Action (means good stunt sequences) nor Romance nor great one-liners nor anything. The film opens with brilliant visual spectacle of Mexican festival with astounding music. (smooth one take shot lasts almost 5 minutes) and that’s it; after that, every scene of this movie is predictable and doesn’t let you glue even if you want to. One good thing about this movie is, exotic locations shot mostly at night. Story is 007 is grounded for his irresponsible actions and politically no more double OO operations; so, Bond on his own to find mission first and to accomplish too. In fact, by the time climax arrived, audience did not even bother to care who’s killing who. Except Craig, exotic locations – nothing great in this movie. Ironic to Hollywood, this is two and half hours movie.
Spectre, the latest Bond movie is not the best but shot in extravagance and high on sleekness and style.Director Sam Mendes opens the film with a spectacular scene in Mexico at a carnival where a helicopter chase and fight above the brimming vibrant colour and music is more like poetic violence.Close to the intermission a super sexy car chase with narrow escapes on cobbled roads is high octane stuff.Barring these two spectacular stunt sequences, the latest Bond film is more talk heavy and hard to decipher. The talent pool of acting here is far better than before..Lea Seydoux is suitably arresting and confident as she struts her hourglass figure in a champagne gown in a posh train restaurant and even fights with ease.Monica Belluci is wasted.Christopher Waltz, Ralph Fiennes ,Dave Batuista, Ben Wishlaw and Naomi Harris have more meat in their roles.Waltz and Fiennes particularly leave a mark.
Now for our leading man.007 .Craig in his well tailored and fitted suits is quite a sight for the sore eyes. The gadgets, guns, gals and cars make the film racier and edgier.Quite worth a one time watch.
