Stree (1968)

One day, Anuaradha and her brother Dr. Prasanna find Debabrata lying unconsciousness by the sea shore and bring him home. With Dr. Prasanna’s treatment and Anuradha’s care, Debabrata gets well. Meanwhile, Anuradha and Debabrata fall in love. Prasanna gets them married and sees off the couple to Debarata’s home where she discovers that Debabrata is actually a widower and has a son. She feels betrayed but looks after his family as a devoted wife. Gradually, she gets close to Debrabrata too. But his sister Bhanu creates misunderstanding between them, and a biased Debabrata leaves the house with his son. But Anuradha doesn’t lose hope, and with her determination and sacrifice, they reunite in the end.
