Subhashish Panigrahi

Subhashish Panigrahi is a trans-media artist and a documentary filmmaker. Most of his filmography and new media works are on issues related to neo-colonization of the web and marginalized communities. He has a background as a community manager in international NGOs that are working for the open internet. Panigrahi founded OpenSpeaks, a project for documenting languages and co-founded O Foundation. He is a former National Geographic grantee and National Geographic Explorer. As a Digital Identity Fellow at Yoti, he led the production of Marginalized Aadhaar, a documentary on Indian bio-metric identity Aadhaar and the exclusion of marginalized communities. His documentary "Gyani Maiya" features late Gyani Maiya Sen Kusunda, the most fluent speaker of the Kusunda language of Nepal that is now down to one native speaker. His other documentaries are on the Bonda, Ho and Gutob languages - all indigenous languages of India.
