Trivia:
Diaz had originally delivered the wordy, dialogue of her character with a full-on Rihanna-style accent. Going Barbadian for a character that's Argentinian in the script is an odd choice and the executives apparently didn't think it was so hot, and the actress was reluctantly forced to go back and re-record her lines.

Angelina Jolie was originally cast as Malkina but dropped out and was replaced by Cameron Diaz.

This film is dedicated in memory of Ridley Scott's brother Tony Scott.

Bradley Cooper and Jeremy Renner were considered for a role but Javier Bardem was cast.

Natalie Portman was considered for a role in the movie.

Penélope Cruz and Javier Bardem are a couple in real life but they do not share scenes in this movie.

Production was shut down for a week after Tony Scott, Ridley Scott's brother, committed suicide in August 2012, while the filming continued on September 3rd.

The movie marks Michael Fassbender and Brad Pitt's third collaboration, after 'Inglourious Basterds' and '12 Years a Slave'.
