Trivia:
As with his previous films Cold Mountain (2003) and Michael Collins (1996), this film shows actor Brendan Gleeson genuine fiddle playing skills.

Of the three leads, Gordon Pinsent is the only one who actually hails from Newfoundland.

Released ten years since director Don McKellar's previous film, Childstar (2004).

This comedy is based on a French-Canadian film, La Grande Séduction (2003).

This movie was nominated in four categories for the Canadian Screen Awards, with Pinsent winning the award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role at ceremony held in March 2014.
