Far from the bustle of Turkey’s cities few choices are available to young people, such as the two yet unformed, half-people of the story, 15-year old shepherd girl Fidan and her groom-to-be Salih, who at 35 is intellectually even younger than Fidan. Thrust into what at first glance seems a tragic marriage, they slowly open up to each other, united by the same feeling of loneliness and detachment from the world of the adults.
