This family-oriented romantic drama delves into the life of Ajith, a happy go lucky young man, who has just gained entry into a prestigious college. His mother, Sarojini is a widow, who has brought her son up with the greatest of love and affection. She is also the owner of a wealthy estate, and Ajith is the sole heir. Ajith begins residing at Divakaran's house and begins his stint at college. At college, Ajith falls in love with Maggie Fernandes, a vivacious young woman, who is also a fellow student at the college. Needing privacy and independence, Ajith decides to rent an apartment. His friend takes him to the house of a talented painter, Mr Fernandes, who also happens to be Maggie's father. When Ajith's mother finds out about his relationship with Maggie, she objects to the union. However, when Maggie's father suddenly passes away, he decides to marry her at any cost. While travelling towards home, tragedy strikes and the young couple get involved in a terrible accident. Maggie loses her eyesight in the process. She is treated by Mammootty, a kind doctor, who is a single parent. Ajith's mother is cruelly deceptive when she leads him to believe that Maggie did not survive the accident. Can the dedicated doctor succeed in restoring Maggie's vision? Will fate ever bring Maggie and Ajith together again?
