Embedded with charged emotional and social relevance, this dramatic tale revolves around Mani, a fearless man who keeps getting into trouble with the law, because he stands up against powerful and wealthy people for the sake of the impoverished and needy. Thangarasu, a wealthy landowner always comes to his assistance and protects him from the police. When Mani is falsely accused of a murder he did not commit, he ends up killing the real culprit. He begs Thangarasu to take care of his younger sister and surrenders himself to the police.
Mani returns several years later, after completing his prison sentence as a changed man. He finds out that Thangarasu has passed away, and his son, Raja is being brought up by an evil uncle. Raja has been guarded closely and kept ignorant, without any education. He is also constantly made to fear authority and violence. Now, Mani, along with his niece, Vijaya make it their mission to educate Raja and help him get over his fears, so that he can stand up against greedy forces and fight for his rights.
