Vanitha Police (1984)

This offbeat drama touchingly traces the trials and triumphs in the life of Pilla, a simple, innocent, mildly mentally challenged man. He is a well-loved in the community and all the young boys are his friends. Sasikala, a police constable and her father move into the neighbourhood. With out knowing about Pilla, Sasikala initially mistakes his behaviour to be a pretence in order to harass her, so they get into fights. However, once she learns about Pilla's pure and good nature she develops a soft spot for him and helps him, but can her sympathy ever turn into love? Can Pilla ever become a suitable life partner for Sasikala? How will their respective futures unfold?
