Varnnakazhchakal (2000)

This offbeat tale follows the fluctuating fortunes in the life of Kunju, a member of a joint family who is undergoing treatment for insanity. Sridevi is a bank employee, who in her free time, helps out her uncle, who is a magician/village doctor (manthravadi). Sridevi and Kunju meet when she comes to his home for his treatment. Somehow sensing a kindred spirit in Sridevi, he opens up to her and narrates the story of how he met Malavika and the unbelievably traumatic experiences that transpired, which resulted in his mental collapse. Will sharing his story be cathartic for Kunju and enable him to move on from the scars of the past? How will the relationship between Kunju and Sridevi progress?
