Vilambaram (1987)

Delving into complex human relationships and concepts, this evocative drama depicts the changes in the relationship between Balagopalan, a wealthy man, and his wife, Sunanda. Two years into their marriage, Sunanda became a paraplegic and finds herself unable to fulfil her marital vows. As a consequence, Balagopalan begins to stray, even wanting to get a divorce and marry someone else. He also hires a personal secretary, whom he feels sexually attracted to. Two intelligent lawyers Sheela, a straightforward public prosecutor and Advocate PK Namboothiri, a savvy and cunning defence attorney are neighbours. As they get to know each other, they find that they are different in many ways, and for the most part, are on opposing sides of the law. Sheela becomes Sunanda's lawyer and Advocate PK Namboothiri becomes Balagopalan's lawyer. What will happen in the marriage between Sunanda and Balagopalan? Will they end up getting a divorce? How will the relationship between Sheela and Advocate PK Namboothiri pan out?
