Trivia:
Amitabh Bachchan's legs appear to be removed in the movie due to the use of visual effects to show him handicapped, and also had to wear black socks throughout the shoot to aid in the creation of the effects.

Producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra mentioned that the best lines on Wazir were improvised by the actors on set.

Javed Akhtar was approached by Chopra with the script of Wazir when he was filming his movie 'Lakshya', and after 10 years he agreed to do the movie as the revised script moved him to his core.

Akhtar went through intense training and had put on eight kilograms of weight to portray the role of an anti terrorist squad officer.
