(What Is) The White Matter? (2011)

In the summer of 2012, Anjan arrives in Varanasi, India. Then, he mysteriously disappears. Left behind are his research material, and fragments of a science fiction story he was writing about a strange character K - a being from another dimension, who comes in search of the place his ancestors visited thousands of years ago. This film, a reconstruction of the events that leads to his disappearance, is as much about the city, as it is about its protagonist. Blending the real and the imaginary, the film transcends genres to approach an age old quest through the hidden labyrinths of human mind.
