Devki lives in constant conflict between the desire for emancipation and the established traditions of Indian society. The movie Where to, Miss? accompanies this courageous young Indian within three years through three different stages of life: daughter, wife, mother.
Her biggest wish is to become a taxi driver. She wants to bring other women home safely and be financially independent. To achieve her goal, she must first prevail against her father, then against her husband and finally against her father-in-law. Devki's everyday life is marked by defending her vision of life against others and finding a way for herself to realize her dreams without losing her family.
