This masterfully crafted family drama delves into concepts of destiny and rebirth through the experiences and exploits of three generations of men from a family.
The tale revolves around a young couple Radha Mohan (Naga Chaitanya) and Krishnaveni (Samanta), who have a little son named Bittu. There is some anger and animosity between Bittu's parents and due to complex sequence of events sparked by Bittu's deception, the couple tragically die in a car accident.
Despite his feelings of guilt and sorrow, the young Bittu grows on to become a wealthy and successful business man, Nageswara Rao (Nagarjuana). One fine day, Nageswara Rao gets the shock of his life, when he meets Nagarjuna (Naga Chaitanya) and Priya (Samanta), who bear a striking resemblance with his parents. Nageshwara Rao decides to do everything in his power to reunite the feuding couple.
In another quirk of fate, Nageswara Rao accidentally helps an old man Chaitanya (ANR) and also meets Anjali (Shriya) in the hospital. This time it is a shock for Chaitanya, who sees Nageswara Rao and Anjali together. Why is Chaitanya shocked? What is the common bond between these apparent strangers?
This movie not only did phenomenally well at the box office, but also received immense critical acclaim and went on to win many accolades, including the Filmfare Award for Best Film - Telugu.
This movie was screened at the 45th International Film Festival of India in the Homage A. Nageswara Rao section on 29 November 2014.
This movie turned out to be the last film that veteran actor Nageswara Rao worked in, as he passed away on 22 January 2014 during the film's production phase. It was promoted as a 'befitting send off' and a tribute from his son, Nagarjuna.
This movie featured cameo parents is from many popular actors including Amitabh Bachchan as Pratap, Akkineni Amala as a dance teacher, Akkineni Akhil as Akhil, Neetu Chandra as air hostess, Rashi Khanna as Prema, Lavanya Tripathi as Radha Mohan's friend.
This is the first and only Telugu movie to feature three generation's of actors from the same family: Akkineni Nageshwara Rao, Nagarjuna Akkineni and Naga Chaitanya Akkineni.
