Poonam is an Indian film actress, who predominantly appears in Tamil, Malayalam and Telugu films. She has acted with Mammootty and Mohanlal in multiple films. She was crowned Miss Pune in 2005 and after which she started modeling part-time while studying. Director of Mudati spotted her in a ramp show and opted her for acting. She made her acting debut in the 2005 Telugu film Modati Cinema, following which she appeared in several Telugu films, including Boss opposite Nagarjuna and Bhaskar's Parugu. She debuted in Tamil in 2008 with the Hari-directed film Seval and subsequently starred in Thenavattu and Kacheri Arambam. She acted in Chinatown, a Malayalam movie as Emily, starring Mohanlal, Dileep, Jayaram, Suraj Venjaramood, and Kavya Madhavan, and directed by Rafi Mecartin.
