Indian film director Hari Gopalakrishnan hails from Katchana vilai near Nazareth in Tuticorin District, Tamil Nadu, India and is best known for creating hits in the 'action' genre. He had joined as an assistant and had gained experience working with prominent directors K Natraj for the movie 'Valli', alongside Nassar in movies like 'Avatharam' and 'Alex Pandian'.
He had made his debut in the Tamil film industry during the year 2002, with 'Thamizh' starring Prashanth and Simran and his second film Saamy starring actor Vikram became a blockbuster hit and a turning point in his career.
In 2010 Hari directed his tenth film 'Singham' which marks his third time collaboration with actor Suriya Sivakumar after their previous works: Aaru (2005) and Vel (2007). He is now married to former actress Preetha Vijayakumar, the daughter of actor Vijayakumar and has three children.
